We’ve been to Philly three times in the past two years, and we’ll be back in 2026!
It’s perfect for a weekend getaway because of the fun experiences and date spots, beautiful hotels across price ranges, a delicious and diverse food scene, great spa options, and plenty of arts and culture options.
See below for some of our faves or recommendations from locals so you can start planning your 2026 Philadelphia weekend getaway.
Fun Experiences and Date Spots for a Philadelphia Weekend Getaway
From romantic to fun to unique and beyond, Philly offers countless memorable experiences and date-night (or day) options. Below are some that we have enjoyed throughout the past few years.
Dope Botanicals
Organic herbal wellness shop that offers mocktail classes and personalized wellness workshops.
Address: 257 S 20th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103
We truly had the best time here! Growing, learning, and getting better as a couple and as individuals will never get old! And, we were able to do just that on this date. With the background playing the perfect playlist, we each shared our concerns and things that we wanted to work on, from stress to focus to gut health, and were able to learn about herbs that could naturally help us. Then we made the most delicious wellness mocktails!
PRO TIP: If you are feeling down or need a little pick-me-up, order the Happy Pill Drink. It’s an instant mood booster!

The Pottery Spottery
Pottery studio where you can paint pre-fabricated clay items.
Address: 1805 E. Passyunk Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19148
My husband is naturally more artsy, while I… consider myself borderline terrible at anything involving crafts. But we still had a great time at this pottery studio, and both of our pieces turned out way nicer than we expected.

Loomen Labs
DIY candle-making, fragrance, and floral arrangements.
Address: 322 South St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
We had a great time making candles here, but they also offer floral arrangement classes and perfume-making classes. So you can definitely choose your adventure!
As for the candle-making class, you truly do everything from start to finish to make your candle. You pick out the vase, make your candle, selecting the scents, color, etc. Then, when you get your candles home, you get to have a fun debate on whose smells the best!
*They are able to mail your candle home if needed.
Old City Kitchen
Fun hands-on cooking classes.
Address: 218 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19106
We love taking cooking classes when we travel abroad, but this was our first time doing one here in the U.S., and we loved it just as much! We made pierogies, and they turned out so good. The instructor was fun, patient, and super helpful, which made the whole experience even better.
It’s easy to see why this date idea has won awards over the years. They offer classes across so many different cuisines, and they even have a Blue Zone Class if you’re interested in learning how to cook and eat like the people who live into their 100s.
Independence Blue Cross RiverRink
Fun summer and winter activities like roller skating, ice skating, arcade games, and cozy cabins.
Address: 101 S Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19106
We did this a few years ago in the winter and had an absolute blast! The cozy cabins are so romantic and totally put you in the holiday spirit. You can also do s’mores, play games, and ice skate. There are so many romantic things to do in Philly, but this felt especially romantic. Highly recommend this one if your trip timing aligns.
Where to Stay: Best Hotels for a Couples’ Philadelphia Weekend Getaway
If you’re like us and absolutely care about the hotel, you’re in luck because Philly has beautiful hotels across price ranges and vibes. So far, we’ve stayed at three and loved each one.
The Bellevue Philadelphia
Blends classic grandeur with modern sophistication.
Address: 200 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19102
.We stayed in the “Dark and Stormy” suite. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and had a moody, elevated vibe that made it feel truly luxe and romantic. The bathroom was a highlight featuring a huge walk-in shower, marble countertops, and modern brass fixtures that gave it a boutique-hotel feel.
One of the biggest perks of staying at The Bellevue is access to the Bellevue Sporting Club, one of the best hotel fitness centers in Philadelphia. The club offered a multitude of classes and had ample equipment.

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia
Unparalleled Service and breathtaking, unobstructed views from every corner.
Address: One N 19th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103
We totally fell in love with this hotel and ended up spending a whole day there, barely leaving! We woke up early to enjoy the sunrise views from the pool located on the 57th floor, then went back to our room for an in-room breakfast. And, continued our day, enjoying all of the hotel amenities and dining options. Check out an Instagram Reel of our room here.
The whole hotel offered incredible views, but those from the Skyhigh Restaurant on the 60th floor were among the best in the city.

The Notary Hotel
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this hotel features 1920s décor and all today’s modern amenities.
Address: 21 N Juniper St, Philadelphia, PA 19107
The building dates back to 1926 and has beautiful architectural character, with elevated, contemporary interiors.
Our room was spacious, stylish, and comfortable; exactly what we needed after very full days of exploring the city. The location is one of its biggest perks: you’re steps from City Hall, Reading Terminal Market, and tons of restaurants and attractions. This hotel offered personality, convenience, and great design! It’s a solid choice for a Philly stay, especially if you are a Marriott Bonvoy member or want to use points.

From elevated dining at various price points and cuisine types to local favorites where you can relax and chill while still liking your food, to dining with live entertainment without sacrificing taste or options for said entertainment…Philly has everything your foodie heart desires!

Every trip is better when we manage to fit in some spa time. It helps us feel a bit more refreshed and cared for before returning home. Below are three that we recommend and would definitely return to.
Urban Oasis Spa
Address: 1522 Locust St, 2nd fl, Philadelphia, PA 19102
A zen oasis where the world’s most cherished healing rituals are combined with modern beauty. We both did the head spa experience; it was so educational and relaxing

Gorgeous day spa with options for facials, massages, hair, mani/pedi, and more. We both loved the facials.
