Afterwards, you can enjoy some Jamaican food at The Black River Lounge. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, a bar and a jerk pit. Call ahead to make a reservation if you want to eat and chill at the Lounge.

Beach Day at the Famous 7 Mile Beach
We had such a relaxing beach day here and left with some glorious tans. I even got my hair braided–two long cornrows with extensions added! They provided the extensions. If you don’t want to lounge on the beach all day or get your hair braided lol, you can also go horseback riding, parasailing and jet-skiing. Make sure you take cash for beach chairs or any of the activities that you want to do. You can typically negotiate the price.
If you aren’t staying in Negril, your hotel most likely can help arrange a taxi or shuttle for you.

Watch Pigs Trot Across The Mountains and Chase Some Waterfalls
YS Falls tends to get all the love from the tourists. But if you want to skip the crowds and still experience some exotic cascading waterfalls then head to Reach Falls. After enjoying the waterfalls, you can visit the legendary underwater cave, take a guided tour upstream the Driver’s River or relax in the jacuzzi.
Fun fact, sometimes there are pigs trotting across the mountains. Send us a picture if you go and happen to see them!

Romantic Dinner
We love a romantic dinner but on our trip to Jamaica together, we ended up mostly just stuffing our faces with food from the all-inclusive resort we were staying at. But we did treat LJ’s parents to a candlelit dinner on the beach for their 40th wedding anniversary. They loved it! Most resorts will offer it so just check with your hotel if you are interested.
We also reached out to Rod Hinds, travel agent and Carribean Guru for a romantic restaurant recommendation. He raved about L’Escargot, even saying it’s one the most romantic restaurants not just in Jamaica but the entire Caribbean. The entree prices range from $18 USD to $35 USD so you won’t break the bank for a night out.

Dance the Day Away after Cliff Jumping
If you’re wondering where the party is…It’s here! Think Adventure X Day Party Vibes. There are cliffs to jump off, one as high as 35ft, good drinks and food to be had, music to get your dance on to and a swimming pool. Oh, and a killer view to watch the sunset and whisper sweet nothings to your boo. Call ahead if you want a cabana or to check the live reggae music schedule!

Try an Open-Aired Carriage Ride and Learn about Healing Herbs
Rafting on the Martha Brae is perfect for a relaxing, romantic afternoon date. The embarkation area, “Rafter’s Village”, encompasses six acres of beautifully manicured lawns situated on a natural horseshoe island. Before embarking on the tour, guests can take a stroll through “Miss Martha’s Herb Garden,” a presentation of Jamaica’s herbs, famous for their medicinal and healing properties.
Thirty-foot long bamboo rafts are boarded from a concrete pier, under the supervision of a licensed dispatcher. The raft ride is operated over a three-mile stretch of the beautiful Martha Brae River and the guided ride lasts approximately one hour. Once on the raft, guests can learn about “The Legend of Martha Brae” or enjoy an exhilarating swim.
